One Day Symposia and Workshop

Date: 12th November 2024 (Tuesday) | Location: Convocation Hall, IIT Bombay | Time: 8:15 AM - 7:40 PM
Convener: Prof. Sanjeeva Srivastava, BSBE, IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay will host a one-day symposium titled “Pioneering the Future of Healthcare and Diagnostics Using 4D Omics” on November 12, 2024, organized by the Proteomics Lab, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE). This event will showcase cutting-edge advancements in 4D-proteomics and 4D omics, fields poised to revolutionize healthcare and diagnostics.
Genomics provides a foundational blueprint of genetic information, yet to fully grasp biological complexities, researchers are turning to proteomics, the large-scale study of proteins. Proteomics allows for deeper insights into disease mechanisms, enabling more accurate diagnostics and targeted therapies. Recent advancements in 4D proteomics introduce a temporal dimension, where ion mobility using timsTOF technology bring unparalleled sensitivity, selectivity, and acquisition speed, accelerating new levels of protein analysis. 4D Omics brings a dynamic approach to studying biological processes, integrating genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics with a time-sensitive dimension. This multi-layered view enables researchers to track molecular changes over time, offering unprecedented insights into disease mechanisms, progression, and therapeutic responses. By advancing biomarker discovery and enhancing clinical trial precision, 4D Omics is expected to accelerate personalized medicine and more effective treatment options.
